How does the delivery process work?

  • Once our system processes your order, your products are inspected thoroughly to ensure they are in a perfect condition.
  • After they pass through the final round of quality checks, they are packed and handed over to our trusted delivery partner.
  • Our delivery partners then bring the package to you at the earliest possibility. In case, they are unable to reach your provided address or at a suitable time, they will contact you to resolve the issue.

How are items packaged?

We are committed to sustainability in our packaging while ensuring the safety of the orders dispatched. Our Ethnikala cardboard outer box is eco-friendly and made from 100% recycled paper. Where feasible, we use paper fillers instead of bubble wrap, and this is a process of continuous improvement for us. We are committed to further substantially reducing plastic in our packaging and are constantly innovating new solutions given the nature of our category.

What is Ethnikala's Convenience Fee?

Convenience fees are one of the following:

Platform charges: A service charge levied for rendering pre and post-order services including but not limited to brand aggregation, technical expertise and pre/post-sales support.

Shipping charges: A value-added service charge levied under one of the following circumstances: Please note that the applicable threshold value is calculated exclusive of any applicable ‘Coupon Benefit'

Towards providing platform services pre and post order including but not limited to, higher than average returns

Refund of Convenience fees

a) If the order is lost or undelivered to the preferred location, the complete order amount will be refunded if paid online

b) If a customer cancels an order partially or returns an item, the convenience fee will not be refunded.

c) Convenience Fee, as applicable, will be refunded in case of a full order cancellation before the product is out for delivery.

d) For accounts whose return behaviour does not adhere to Ethnikala’s fair usage policy, the shipping/platform fee will be non-refundable irrespective of order value*.


*Order value is calculated after applying discounts/VAT/GST or any other applicable charges.

What is Ethnikala’s Fair Usage Policy?

We always strive to provide the best experience to our customers. However, very rarely, there are some accounts that misuse Ethnikala's customer-friendly return service. These accounts typically return more items compared to an average user or frequently choose to not accept their shipments. Ethnikala reserves the right to levy convenience fees on customers whose return rates are higher than average and are not adhering to the liberal returns service

My order has been shipped. Now how can I track it?

After placing your order, you will receive a confirmation message on your registered email and phone number. As we prepare and ship your order within 24-48 hours of the confirmation, you can then check the status of your package through the 'Track' button on the 'My Orders' section. You can also choose to receive your order updates by email.

Are there any hidden costs (sales tax, gst etc) on items sold by Ethnikala on the platform?

There are NO hidden charges when you make a purchase on the platform. List prices are final and all-inclusive. The price you see on the product page is exactly what you would pay.

Delivery charges are not hidden charges and are charged (if at all) extra depending on the delivery partner.

Ethnikala does not/cannot ship to my area. Why?

Please enter your PIN code on the product page (you don't have to enter it every single time) to know whether the product can be delivered to your location.

If you haven't provided your PIN code until the checkout stage, the PIN code in your shipping address will be used to check for serviceability.

Whether your location can be serviced or not depends on

Whether the Ethnikala ships to your location

Legal restrictions, if any, in shipping particular products to your location

The availability of reliable courier partners in your location

At times Ethnikala prefer not to ship to certain locations. This is entirely at their discretion.

Why is the CoD option not offered in my location?

Availability of CoD depends on the ability of our courier partner servicing your location to accept cash as payment at the time of delivery.

Our courier partners have limits on the cash amount payable on delivery depending on the destination and your order value might have exceeded this limit. Please enter your PIN code on the product page to check if CoD is available in your location.

I need to return an item, how do I arrange for a pick-up?

Returns are easy. Contact Us to initiate a return. You will receive a call explaining the process, once you have initiated a return.

Wherever possible Ethnikala will facilitate the pick-up of the item. In case, the pick-up cannot be arranged through Ethnikala, you can return the item through a third-party courier service. Return fees are borne by the Ethnikala.

I did not receive my order but got a delivery confirmation SMS/Email.

In case the product was not delivered and you received a delivery confirmation email/SMS, report the issue within 24 hours from the date of delivery confirmation for the seller to investigate.

What do the different tags like "In Stock", and "Available" mean?

'In Stock'

For items listed as "In Stock", Ethnikala will mention the delivery time based on your location pincode (usually 2-3 business days, 4-5 business days or 4-6 business days in areas where standard courier service is available). For other areas, orders will be sent by Registered Post through the Indian Postal Service which may take 1-2 weeks depending on the location.


The Ethnikala might not have the item in stock but can procure it when an order is placed for the item. The delivery time will depend on the estimated procurement time and the estimated shipping time to your location.

'Preorder' or 'Forthcoming'

Such items are expected to be released soon and can be pre-booked for you. The item will be shipped to you on the day of it's official release launch and will reach you in 2 to 6 business days after launch. The Preorder duration varies from item to item. Once known, the release time and date are mentioned. (Eg. 5th May, August 3rd week)

'Out of Stock'

Currently, the item is not available for sale. Use the 'Notify Me' feature to know once it is available for purchase.

'Back In Stock Soon'

The item is popular and is sold out. You can however 'book' an order for the product and it will be shipped according to the timelines mentioned by the Ethnikala.

'Temporarily Unavailable'

The product is currently out of stock and is not available for purchase. The product could to be in stock soon. Use the 'Notify Me' feature to know when it is available for purchase.

'Permanently Discontinued'

This product is no longer available because it is obsolete and/or its production has been discontinued.

'Out of Print'

This product is not available because it is no longer available for sale and has been permanently discontinued

What is the estimated delivery time?

We usually dispatch most orders within 1-4 business days (excluding Sundays and public holidays)

  • Though we keep 95% of our catalogue in our inventory, certain products need to be sourced directly from the brand itself so that we can live up to our promise of providing fresh, original products.
  • While we are trying our best to avoid this situation, these products might delay your order.
  • If you are ordering our products from a Mega Sale event, dispatches may be a bit delayed due to increased volumes. We will target to dispatch all orders within 5 days of the order date.

My order will be shipped in multiple shipments? What does this mean?

Don’t worry! This is a completely normal situation. This just means that different parts of your order may have simply been shipped from our different warehouse/office locations. Rest assured, you will only have to pay the shipping/CoD charge if applicable, on the first package you receive.


Are there any shipping charges applicable to my order?

  • We have standard shipping charges for most addresses.
  • We are currently not accepting Cash On Delivery orders below Rs.2,000 or above Rs.50,000.

What is the range of locations to which Ethnikala ships their products?

  • Ethnikala ships internationally and in India currently.
